The CFI has released their draft call for proposals with an NOI submission deadline of September 6, 2019 and full proposal submission deadline of January 20, 2020.
The link to the call is here: https://www.innovation.ca/about/news/cfi-launches-draft-call-proposals-…;
We would like to highlight page 7 of the document regarding ineligibility of proposals that focus on shared advanced research computing infrastructure. Our office is seeking clarification on this from the CFI but if you are considering large shared computing hardware, please contact us.
Please note that the internal deadline will not change as we have already recruited our internal review panel and we will continue to use the guidelines previously distributed for the remainder of the internal review process.
For your reference attached is a copy of the review criteria that our panel members will use to assess each application. The CFI has indicated in the draft call that Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles will be considered in all proposals submitted in January 2020. The internal review panel will be asked to comment on this aspect in each of the proposals, however, these comments will remain formative, and will not be considered in the internal adjudication process. Rather, EDI focused comments from reviewers will be used to help inform the development of full proposals for those projects selected to go forward to submit to the CFI.
